Pittsburgh Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Cocaine Distribution

In a significant blow to the city's underground drug trade, Willie Harris, 42, was sentenced to 120 months' imprisonment for his role in a cocaine distribution ring that operated out of his convenience store, Woogie's Market, in Pittsburgh's West End.

According to a federal investigation, Harris conspired to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine between November 2017 and June 2018 from his store at 3038 Chartiers Ave.

The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration, revealed a complex web of drug trafficking in and around the Greenway Projects area of the West End.

Willie Harris, formerly of Bergman Street, Pittsburgh, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Assistant United States Attorneys Tonya Sulia Goodman and Yvonne M. Saadi prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman commended the agencies involved in the investigation, including the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, and Pennsylvania State Police, for their work in bringing Harris to justice.

The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which aims to disrupt and dismantle high-level drug traffickers and their organizations.

Harris' conviction and sentence serve as a testament to the determination of law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of drug trafficking in Pittsburgh and beyond.
