Wilson Edis Rodriguez-Serrano, Illegal Reentry into the United States, Montana 2026

Published February 19, 2026

A Honduran man has been sentenced for reentering the United States illegally, as part of a nationwide initiative to combat immigration and protect communities.

Wilson Edis Rodriguez-Serrano, 39, was sentenced to time served, 76 days, and remanded to the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Great Falls, Montana.

According to a statement from U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme, Rodriguez-Serrano pleaded guilty in January 2026 to one count of illegal reentry.

The government alleged that on the morning of December 4, 2025, Border Patrol agents were alerted to a construction-type truck at a gas station in Havre that was suspected of being operated by an individual unlawfully present in the United States.

Agents initiated a consensual encounter at the gas pump, which evolved into a detailed immigration inspection. Rodriguez-Serrano was identified as one of the passengers in the truck and determined to be a citizen of Honduras.

Law enforcement determined all four men were in the United States illegally, and they were transported to the Havre Border Patrol Station for further processing.

At the Station, Rodriguez-Serrano was advised of his Warning as to Rights. He acknowledged his rights and was willing to speak without a lawyer present. He admitted he crossed the international boundary into the United States from Mexico near Eagle Pass, Texas.

He also acknowledged he had previously entered the United States unlawfully and been ordered to return to Honduras. In fact, on November 21, 2010, Rodriguez-Serrano requested and was granted a Voluntary Return to Honduras, and on October 28, 2019, a final order of removal was issued to him.

The U.S. Attorney's Office prosecuted the case, and U.S. Border Patrol conducted the investigation as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat immigration and protect communities.
