Assaulting a Federal Employee Lands Columbia Man in Hot Water

Yefferson Josue Pinzon Suarez, a 31-year-old man from Columbia, Missouri, has been accused of a serious crime. According to a grand jury indictment, Pinzon Suarez is facing one felony count of assaulting a federal employee.

The incident occurred on June 20, when Pinzon Suarez was being taken to the Robert A. Young Federal Building in downtown St. Louis for fingerprinting. He allegedly refused to cooperate and bit a deportation officer's forearm, as well as hit him in the chest.

Pinzon Suarez had been living in Maryland Heights and was serving a sentence at the St. Louis County Jail. An immigration judge had previously ordered him removed from the country in March.
