Ashley Helene Hilton, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Alaska 2013

Anchorage woman, Ashley Helene Hilton, 26, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison for her conviction of felon in possession of a firearm, according to federal court records.

The crime took place on September 5, 2012, when Hilton was found to be in possession of a loaded Witness .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol. A latent print on the magazine inside of the firearm matched that of the defendant.

Hilton was not legally permitted to possess the firearm, as she has a felony conviction for second degree robbery from 2005. She was also in the company of her co-defendant, Nancie Caridad Modeste, who was in possession of 85 grams of crack cocaine and was arrested on drug charges.

Modeste has pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and felon in possession of firearms, and her sentencing hearing is set for July 1, 2013.

U.S. Attorney Karen L. Loeffler commends the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Alaska State Troopers for their investigation of this case. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin White Bradley prosecuted the case.
