Daryl G. Nenninger, 34, Sentenced for Sex Offender Registration Violation

A Lawrenceville, Illinois man, Daryl G. Nenninger, was sentenced to 48 months in prison for violating the Sex Offender Notification and Registration Act.

Nenninger, a convicted sex offender, was sentenced on February 18, 2015, in federal district court in Benton, Illinois, for his crime. He was also fined $100 and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

According to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, Nenninger’s violation was discovered after he was arrested in Mexico on March 28, 2014. He was extradited to Illinois and taken into custody by law enforcement officials.

Nenninger admitted to taking a train from Effingham, IL, to El Paso, Texas, and then crossing the Mexican border without properly informing the State of Illinois as to his whereabouts. He had previously registered in Lawrence County, Illinois, on December 11, 2013.

The case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel T. Kapsak.
