In a shocking indictment, 37-year-old Omar Isho, a Modesto resident, has been charged with distributing methamphetamine in the Central Valley of California.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Isho allegedly sold methamphetamine on darknet marketplaces, including the Dream Market, Empire Market, and Silk Road 3.1, using the vendor name ‘DrFrosty.’
Federal agents conducted undercover purchases of methamphetamine from Isho’s accounts, which were linked to parcels containing the illicit substance hidden inside jigsaw puzzle boxes.
The investigation was led by the Northern California Illicit Digital Economy (NCIDE) Task Force, a multiagency taskforce composed of law enforcement agents from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
If convicted, Isho faces a maximum statutory penalty of 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine. Any sentence, however, would be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The charges against Isho are only allegations, and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Omar Isho, 37, of Modesto, was indicted on June 6, 2019, for distributing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
