Felon Caught with Heat in Tallahassee

Etavious J. Milton, 26, is facing serious time after being indicted by a federal grand jury in Tallahassee. The feds allege Milton, already a convicted felon, was busted with a firearm. Details on exactly where and how the gun was found haven’t been released, but the charge carries a hefty penalty.

United States Attorney John P. Heekin announced the indictment today. Milton was arraigned before Magistrate Martin A. Fitzpatrick. If convicted, the 26-year-old is looking at up to fifteen years in a federal prison cell.

The case was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Tallahassee Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Eric W. Welch is handling the prosecution. A trial is currently scheduled for April 13, 2026, before Judge Mark E. Walker.

This case falls under “Operation Take Back America,” a broad DOJ initiative targeting illegal immigration, cartels, and violent crime—a program that’s been rolled out nationwide with considerable fanfare, even if results remain to be seen. As with all indictments, Milton is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
