A 65-year-old Millvale, Pennsylvania resident, Robert William Bauer, has been indicted for transporting and possessing child sexual abuse material. The crimes allegedly occurred on February 23, 2024, and November 13, 2025. Bauer is accused of knowingly transporting and possessing material depicting child sex abuse, which is a federal crime. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The indictment is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. Bauer faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $500,000, or both, if convicted.

Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher is prosecuting the case. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment. Bauer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
