A notorious tax scam artist has been brought to justice. 36-year-old Shimeka Milton-Flax of Hammond, Louisiana, was sentenced to five years of probation after admitting to preparing fraudulent tax returns.

According to U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite, Milton-Flax knowingly created and filed 48 fake tax returns for 17 clients, resulting in a massive loss to the Internal Revenue Service. The defendant will now have to pay $251,259 in restitution to make up for the damage done.
