Meth Kingpin Gets 10 Years Behind Bars
Nicholas Toth, 30, of Summerdale, Alabama, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in selling methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Toth sold methamphetamine ice to a confidential informant three times during May of 2017. He was indicted on federal charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in October of 2017 and pleaded guilty in March of 2018 to one of the drug sales.
United States District Court Judge William Steele handed down the sentence, ordering Toth to serve 120 months in prison followed by 8 years of supervised release, during which time he will undergo drug and alcohol abuse treatment. Toth was also ordered to pay $100 in mandatory special assessments, but no fine was imposed.
The case was investigated by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the Baldwin County Drug Task Force, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. It was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
Toth’s sentence is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in the Southern District of Alabama. The investigation and prosecution of Toth are a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies in the region.
