Orange County Cop-Kill Investigation Launched by NY AG’s OSI

New York – A chilling encounter in Orange County has sparked a full-scale investigation by the New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI).

The OSI has opened an inquiry into the death of Nancy Loftus, who succumbed to injuries following a confrontation with New York State Police (NYSP) officers on April 12, 2025.

At around 2:30 a.m., NYSP troopers were called to Deerpark in response to a knife assault. Upon arrival, they encountered Loftus outside the residence, reportedly holding what appeared to be a gun. In the tense aftermath, officers instructed Loftus to surrender her weapon and discharged their service weapons, critically wounding her.
