Tucker Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Receipt

Josh Ensley, a 52-year-old teacher from Tucker, Georgia, has entered a guilty plea for receiving child pornography. United States Attorney Michael J. Moore announced that Ensley admitted to ordering and receiving DVDs featuring minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct between September 18, 2008, and March 20, 2011.

The guilty plea was entered before Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr., on May 16, 2013. Ensley also confessed to possessing additional child pornography on his computer obtained through the internet. Some of the material depicted minors younger than twelve years old.

Ensley, a school employee in Dekalb County, Georgia, acknowledged that he possessed videos depicting minor students using the restroom, which he produced himself. He admitted setting up hidden cameras in both boys’ and girls’ restrooms at the school to tape students without their knowledge or consent.

The teacher now faces a mandatory minimum of five years imprisonment, up to a maximum of twenty years, a fine of $250,000, or both. A supervised release term ranging from five years to life is also possible, along with a mandatory assessment fee of $100. Sentencing is scheduled for July 25, 2013.

U.S. Attorney Moore emphasized the severity of child pornography laws and the impact of Ensley’s actions on the victims, stating that each view of the child pornography represented a new victimization of these children.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service, Atlanta Division, with prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorneys Paul C. McCommon III and Robert D. McCullers. For inquiries, contact Sue McKinney at (478) 621-2602.
