Tacoma Dealer Kyle Everhart Sentenced to Ten Years for Meth Possession

GRIM CITY, WASH. — Kyle Andrew Everhart, a 28-year-old Tacoma resident, was handed a ten-year sentence today in the U.S. District Court for Tacoma after being caught with a staggering quantity of methamphetamine pills.

The federal court’s mandatory minimum sentence followed Everhart’s conviction on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, following his arrest in September 2014. Records show that Everhart was initially flagged by law enforcement in 2013 for his involvement in a drug ring that funneled $1.2 million in drug proceeds through bank accounts over four years.

A June 2013 search warrant led to the seizure of 4,700 MDMA pills, nearly half a pound of cocaine, approximately 1,270 oxycodone tablets, and around three pounds of marijuana. A loaded Ruger semi-automatic was also recovered from Everhart’s vehicle, leading to his prosecution in Pierce County Superior Court, where he received a deferred jail term.

In April 2014, the Tacoma hotel where Everhart was apprehended revealed two large bags containing methamphetamine worth up to $200,000. This seizure marked the federal case against him.

The South Sound Gang Task Force (SSGTF), an interagency task force involving the FBI Seattle Division, local police departments, state patrol, corrections department, ATF, and DEA, conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Jerrod Patterson and Rebecca Cohen prosecuted the case.

U.S. District Judge Benjamin H. Settle emphasized the dangerous nature of methamphetamine during sentencing, highlighting its highly addictive properties and labeling it a ‘poison’.
