GRIMY NEWS ALERT: James Christopher Cooke, 38, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, has entered a guilty plea to charges of Possession of certain Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Minors. The admission comes as a result of an extensive investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Cooke, who was indicted in March 2014, is accused of possessing visual depictions involving minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct between September 2012 and December 5, 2012. These materials were transported across state lines via computer, a clear violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2252(a)(4)(B) and 2252(b)(2).

The hearing took place under the watchful eye of Magistrate Judge Kimberly E. West in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Following the proceeding, Cooke remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service as his sentencing looms.

Should Cooke be found guilty, he faces a severe penalty, including up to 10 years imprisonment, lifelong supervision, and a fine that could reach $250,000. Assistant United States Attorney Edward Snow represented the prosecution in this case.

The severity of the charges underscores the government’s commitment to combating child exploitation crimes. As the criminal justice system continues its work, the community remains vigilant against such offenses.

Stay tuned as more details emerge on Cooke’s sentencing and ongoing legal proceedings.
