Gregory R. Klima, Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Avon Lake OH, 2024

Two Lorain County residents, Gregory R. Klima and Timothy R. Grodzik, have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud for reportedly diverting over $290,000 from an escrow account at their title company, Title Access, LLC.

Klima, 52, of Avon Lake, served as President, while Grodzik, also 52, was Vice President of Sales. The duo allegedly defrauded companies and customers through the scheme, which spanned from December 2009 to February 2011.

Title Access, established in 2000, provided services such as title insurance and escrow account management. They collaborated with Stewart Title for issuing title insurance, according to investigations.

The men are accused of diverting funds for personal gain and subsequently falsifying financial documents to hide their actions from a Stewart auditor. Grodzik’s actions were reportedly carried out with Klima’s knowledge.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. Patton, stemming from an investigation led by the FBI and the Ohio Department of Insurance.

It is important to note that an information only indicates a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial where the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
