Bailey Boys’ Eddie Allen Gets 10 Years for RICO Conspiracy

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Eddie Allen, 27, a known member of the violent Bailey Boys Gang, was sentenced Monday to 121 months in federal prison for his role in a RICO conspiracy that included a deadly shooting and armed robbery spree across Buffalo’s blood-soaked East Side. Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny handed down the sentence after Allen was convicted on charges tied to a campaign of terror waged against rival gang members and innocent civilians alike.

The conviction stems from two brutal attacks in 2011. On July 9, Allen drove into territory controlled by the rival LRGP gang, targeting Genesee and Guilford Streets. Firing indiscriminately into a group of men he believed to be LRGP members, Allen struck three. Two survived. The third, paralyzed by gunfire, died seven months later from his injuries—a death now tied directly to Allen’s actions.

Less than four months later, on November 9, 2011, Allen and fellow Bailey Boys stormed a house party on Rounds Avenue. Armed and aggressive, they robbed multiple attendees. When one unarmed man fell to the ground, Allen shot him in cold blood, leaving him wounded but alive. Witnesses described chaos, with victims too terrified to flee or fight back as the gang ransacked the home.

The Bailey Boys Gang, rooted in the triangle bounded by Winspear Avenue, the Kensington Expressway, Eggert Road, and Main Street, has been linked to a wave of violence that includes four murders and 14 attempted murders. Among those: drive-by shootings, attacks during neighborhood gatherings packed with children, and robberies turned violent. Twelve suspects were arrested in the sweeping federal dragnet; eight, including Allen, have now been convicted.

Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. emphasized that today’s sentence is part of a broader crackdown on organized street terror. “This gang waged war on the community,” Kennedy said. “We’re holding them accountable—one conviction at a time.” Assistant U.S. Attorneys Meghan A. Tokash and Michael P. Felicetta led the prosecution, building a case stitched together with ballistics, witness testimony, and gang intelligence.

The investigation was a joint force of federal and local power: the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Erie County District Attorney’s Office under Acting DA Michael Flaherty, Buffalo Police under Commissioner Daniel Derenda, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Erie County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff Timothy B. Howard, DEA, and ATF—all under Special Agents-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen, James J. Hunt, and Ashan Benedict, respectively. The message is clear: Buffalo’s gang wars end in federal court.
