Damonique Shakara Henderson, Concealing a Fugitive, PA 2024

Damonique Shakara Henderson, 24, of Erie, Pennsylvania, is headed to federal prison for 21 months after being convicted of hiding a convicted felon wanted on federal firearm charges. The sentence, handed down Tuesday by U.S. District Judge David S. Cercone, includes three years of supervised release following her prison term.

Henderson was found guilty of concealing Ricky Rashad Pullium, who was wanted on a federal charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Between February 26, 2015, and May 20, 2015, Henderson knowingly harbored Pullium, transporting him out of the Erie area in an effort to keep him hidden from law enforcement.

The fugitive hunt ended on May 20, 2015, when the U.S. Marshals Service and the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force tracked both Henderson and Pullium to a residence in Erie. They were discovered hiding together in a crawl space in the attic — a last-ditch attempt to evade capture that failed within minutes of the raid.

Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted the case, presenting evidence that Henderson not only sheltered Pullium but actively worked to conceal his whereabouts during a critical period when authorities were closing in. Her actions obstructed a federal investigation and endangered public safety, prosecutors argued.

Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song confirmed the sentencing and praised the coordinated effort between federal and state agencies. “Harboring a fugitive isn’t a victimless act,” Song said. “When someone hides a felon armed with a gun, they become part of the threat.”

The investigation was led by the U.S. Marshals Service, with critical support from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police. Henderson is currently in federal custody and will be processed into the Bureau of Prisons system within the coming weeks.
