MANITOWOC, WI – Brandon Lemerond, 20, of Manitowoc is in deep trouble with the feds, facing a lengthy prison term after being indicted on charges of producing and possessing child pornography, and violating his registration as a sex offender. The Eastern District of Wisconsin U.S. Attorney’s Office says Lemerond allegedly committed these crimes throughout July 2025.

The indictment includes two counts of obscene visual depictions of sexual abuse of children, one count of producing child pornography, and three counts of committing a felony while already required to register as a sex offender. This isn’t his first rodeo, and the government is prepared to throw the book at him.

If convicted on the child obscenity charges, Lemerond is looking at a minimum of 15 years behind bars, with a maximum of 40. The child pornography count carries a mandatory 25-year sentence, potentially climbing to 50. And because he was already a registered sex offender, any conviction will trigger an additional, consecutive 10-year sentence. He could also be hit with a $250,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release.

The Manitowoc Police Department did the initial legwork on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Humble is handling the prosecution. An indictment is just an accusation, though. Lemerond is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and he’ll get his day in court.

Federal authorities say the case is part of “Project Safe Childhood,” a nationwide effort to crack down on child sexual abuse and exploitation.
