Rapid City Drug Kingpin Jonah Burning Breast Indicted

Jonah Burning Breast, a.k.a. Jonah Jarrett Burning Breast, Jonah Jared Burning Breast, and Jonah Jared Big Crow, has been hit with serious federal drug charges in Rapid City, South Dakota. The 23-year-old stands accused of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, specifically methamphetamine, according to United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler.

Burning Breast was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 15, 2017, and made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Moreno on March 17, 2017, where he entered a not guilty plea. If convicted, the Rapid City man faces a staggering 20 years in prison and/or a $1,000,000 fine, not to mention the possibility of lifetime supervised release and a contribution to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

The charges stem from an alleged distribution incident on or about September 2, 2016, in Todd County. Burning Breast is accused of intentionally distributing a substance containing methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance under federal law. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Leading the investigation into this drug operation is the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant U.S. Attorney SaraBeth Donovan handling the prosecution. Burning Breast has been remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and awaits trial, set for May 2, 2017.
