Shelton’s streets are once again the battleground in a fierce battle against drug trafficking. Corey Senior, 26, of New Haven, has been charged with distributing heroin after an incident that tragically led to a young woman’s death.

The harrowing tale began on April 27, 2017, when emergency services rushed to a Shelton residence following reports of a suspected drug overdose. The victim, a 34-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police seized bags that appeared to contain heroin and other drug-related evidence.

But the case took an unexpected twist the next day. Corey Senior received a text from the deceased woman’s cellphone, arranging a deal. Officers posing as the victim met Senior at the residence, where they found him in possession of suspected heroin. The man was arrested that very evening.

The investigation revealed that Senior had supplied the fatal dose to the victim just hours before her death. Today, he faces federal charges including possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin, each carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years.

U.S. Attorney Deirdre M. Daly emphasized that while the charges are serious, they are merely allegations. Senior is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Pierpont, Jr.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Tactical Diversion Squad and the Shelton Police Department are leading this investigation, with assistance from multiple local law enforcement agencies across Connecticut. The relentless pursuit of drug dealers continues as authorities aim to save lives and restore peace on Shelton’s streets.
