Cynthia House: 12-Year Sentence for Meth Distribution

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In a hard-hitting blow to the drug trade in Springfield, Cynthia A. House, 50, from Strafford, Mo., has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge M. Douglas Harpool on June 6, follows House’s guilty plea on December 6, 2018, to conspiracy to distribute meth and two counts of possessing meth with intent to distribute. House admitted her involvement in the scheme from November 2015 to February 7, 2017.

House was caught ordering significant quantities of meth from a Kansas City supplier each week, paying up to $9,000 per pound. Her arrests yielded nearly a kilogram of the drug and over $21,000 in cash, all from an unemployed woman. Law enforcement’s relentless pursuit resulted in substantial seizures throughout the region.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Byron H. Black led the prosecution, while the Drug Enforcement Administration, Springfield, Mo., Police Department, and Strafford, Mo., Police Department conducted the investigation. This sentencing underscores the federal government’s commitment to combating drug trafficking in Missouri.

Cynthia A. House’s sentence sends a clear message that methamphetamine distribution will not be tolerated. As the community battles the ongoing drug crisis, this case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences for those who peddle poison on our streets.
