Huntington Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Trent S. Davis, 29, of Huntington, has pleaded guilty to a child pornography offense, according to United States Attorney Mike Stuart.

Davis’ despicable actions involved possession of child pornography involving minors, planning meetings with young girls, and arranging for sexual encounters. His case has sent shockwaves through the community as details of his sickening behavior are revealed.

“Davis planned his deviant acts,” stated U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart. “He not only possessed horrifying images but also intended to meet minors for sexual purposes. The thought is abhorrent and the investigation’s findings are too appalling to imagine.”

The investigation uncovered disturbing content on Davis’ cell phone and computer, including videos depicting the sexual abuse of toddlers and images of sadistic conduct. His plan involved traveling from Eleanor, West Virginia, to Ashland, Kentucky, to engage in sexual activity with two minor girls, aged 12 and 14.

Davis was arrested upon arrival at the meeting location in Ashland after purchasing condoms for the intended act. He now faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced on December 14, 2020. Conviction also requires him to register as a sex offender.

The Ashland Police Department and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force conducted the investigation. The case was prosecuted under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation.
