Maine Man Sentenced for Sex with Minor in Mass.

BOSTON – Maine’s Patrick Plummer, 31, of Parsonsfield, faces a harsh reality behind bars after being sentenced to 13 years for sex with a minor and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Plummer pleaded guilty in September 2022 to attempting to entice a minor, intent to engage in illicit conduct with an underage, and transporting child pornography. His arrest came in September 2020 on state charges that led to federal charges.

The U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Rachael S. Rollins, termed the sentence a victory in the fight against online predators, highlighting Plummer’s admitted targeting of 10 young girls and possession of graphic material involving children as young as two years old.

Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division, emphasized the agency’s commitment to holding predators accountable, noting the urgency of protecting children from physical risk and the lasting harm caused by sexual exploitation.

The investigation revealed Plummer’s online interactions with a teenage girl posing as an undercover officer, his plan to meet her for sex, and extensive CSAM found on his devices. Plummer also admitted sharing such images through Kik Messenger and previously using threats to coerce underaged girls into sharing photos.

U.S. Attorney Rollins, FBI SAC Bonavolonta, and Georgetown Police Chief Donald C. Cudmore announced the sentence, with assistance from the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, Salisbury and Newbury Police Departments, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Meghan C. Cleary and J. Mackenzie Duane.
