Sioux City Meth Dealer Antonovich Gets 4+ Years

SIOUX CITY, IA – Another drug pusher is off the streets of Sioux City, thanks to a federal conviction. Matthew Antonovich, 39, was sentenced to over four years in federal prison on February 1, 2023, for peddling methamphetamine and illegally possessing a firearm. The sentence sends a clear message: dealing poison and breaking the law in this region will land you behind bars.

Antonovich pleaded guilty on June 21, 2022, to charges of felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Court documents reveal Antonovich admitted to actively conspiring to sell meth throughout the Sioux City area. Adding insult to injury, he’s a convicted felon, making the possession of a short-barreled shotgun a blatant violation of federal law. He wasn’t just dealing drugs; he was armed while doing it.

The sentencing was handed down by United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand in Sioux City. Antonovich received a 50-month prison term, a substantial punishment for his crimes.
