Kendal “KD” White, 21, is facing two decades in federal prison for a savage home invasion and kidnapping in St. Louis County last August. White and his accomplice, Cam’Ron Henderson, 21, stormed a woman’s apartment looking for a man they believed had ripped them off in a gun deal. When she couldn’t reveal the man’s location, the situation exploded into brutal violence.
On August 10th, White and Henderson kicked in the door of the victim’s apartment, both armed. White immediately began pistol-whipping the woman repeatedly in the head. When she still insisted she didn’t know where the man was, he snatched her 2-year-old daughter and bolted. The mother’s frantic 911 call triggered an Amber Alert, putting White and Henderson in the crosshairs of a massive manhunt.
Desperate to shake the heat, White tried a clumsy cover-up. He paid three women to return the toddler to her uncle’s house, hoping to throw investigators off his trail. It backfired. St. Louis County Police and the FBI quickly identified White and Henderson as the perpetrators, linking them to a Hyundai Elantra caught on camera near the scene.
At Thursday’s sentencing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski described the crime as “incredibly violent.” Henderson had already pleaded guilty and received 130 months (10 years, 10 months). White’s 240-month sentence reflects the severity of the attack and the terror he inflicted on the victim and her family.
