Ke-Shawn Rivers, 46, a Dayton man going by “JayZ” on the streets, is facing federal charges after a March 11th raid on his house turned up a massive fentanyl and cocaine stash. Federal agents seized roughly 11 kilograms of the drugs, along with $260,000 in cash and two firearms. The bust follows a four-month investigation launched in September 2025, alleging Rivers was a key fentanyl distributor.
Investigators found the drugs packed inside a safe at Rivers’ Dayton residence. No details have yet emerged on who Rivers was supplying, or the origin of the narcotics. That’s where the feds are focusing their energy now. Rivers is currently being held without bail, awaiting trial.
“Illicit fentanyl destroys lives,” stated U.S. Attorney Dominick Gerace. Beyond the boilerplate, the sheer volume of fentanyl seized—enough to kill countless people—is staggering. Rob Streck, a local law enforcement official, emphasized the potential devastation this could have caused in Montgomery County.
The operation was a joint effort between Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost praised the seizure, calling it a win for public safety. This bust represents a significant, if temporary, dent in the flow of poison hitting Dayton’s streets.
