Ke-Shawn Rivers, 46, a Dayton man known as “JayZ” on the streets, is off the streets after federal agents found a brick of fentanyl and coke hidden in his home. The bust went down March 11th, revealing approximately 11 kilograms of the deadly mix, along with a quarter-million in cash and two guns. Authorities say Rivers was slinging fentanyl around Dayton from September 2025 through January 2026.
Cops raided Rivers’ property and initially found narcotics and a firearm. But the real score was inside a safe: nearly 11 kilos of fentanyl and cocaine. Alongside the drugs, investigators seized $260,000 in cold, hard cash and a second firearm. The haul suggests Rivers wasn’t a small-time operator.
U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II didn’t mince words, calling fentanyl a “direct threat to national security.” The operation was a coordinated takedown by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Detroit, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. HSI Special Agent in Charge Jared Murphey stated the agencies are committed to breaking up drug rings across Ohio and Michigan.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost bluntly pointed out that even a minuscule amount of fentanyl can kill. The task force’s work is hailed as a major disruption to the opioid supply chain. Details on Rivers’ sentencing are still forthcoming. Expect the feds to come down hard.
