Bronx Coke Kingpin Jevon Henry Caught with 5.5Kgs of Blow

A Bronx resident has been caught with a massive stash of cocaine, and he’s facing decades behind bars for his crimes. Jevon Henry, 42, of the Bronx, New York, pled guilty today to possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

According to the United States Attorney’s office, Henry admitted to traveling to Syracuse from New York City on January 29, 2024, carrying approximately five and one-half kilograms of cocaine in two pieces of luggage. He also admitted that he intended to distribute the cocaine in Syracuse.

DEA Agents were able to interdict Henry at a local hotel before he could distribute any of the cocaine. The investigation was a joint effort between the DEA, Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica N. Carbone is prosecuting the case, which is set to go to sentencing on September 10, 2024. At that time, Henry faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 40 years, a fine of up to $5,000,000, and a term of supervised release of at least 4 years and up to life.

The United States Attorney’s office said that a defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, and other factors.

The DEA is cracking down on cocaine trafficking in the region, and this case is a major victory in that effort. As the city continues to grapple with the effects of the opioid epidemic, law enforcement is working tirelessly to combat the flow of illicit substances into the community.

Henry’s guilty plea is a stark reminder that those who engage in cocaine trafficking will be caught and held accountable for their crimes. The people of New York deserve to live in a safe and healthy community, free from the scourge of illicit substances.
