Adams Man Charged with Producing Child Pornography
BOSTON – In a devastating blow to the residents of Adams, Massachusetts, a local man has been arrested and charged with producing child pornography. Brian Warner, 38, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Mass. for his alleged role in the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
According to the indictment, Warner employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing CSAM between July 2016 and December 2016. The charges against Warner are nothing short of heinous, and his alleged actions have left a community reeling.
Warner was arrested today and, following an initial appearance in federal court in Springfield, was detained pending a detention hearing tomorrow. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England, made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine G. Curley of the Springfield Branch Office is prosecuting the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
The details contained in the indictment are allegations, and Warner is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The community of Adams and the nation as a whole demand justice for the victims of such heinous crimes, and it is the duty of law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
The case highlights the importance of vigilance in the face of child sex abuse material and the need for continued support for victims and their families. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
