Mexican Nationals Face Reentry Charges After Deportation

Artemio Valencia-Rodriguez, 47; Uvalfre Mariano Cazares-Guillen, 33; and Ismael Artemio Hidalgo-Gomez, 27, all faced their initial court appearances in Las Vegas for charges of illegally reentering the United States. They were deported and had been removed from the country prior to this.

The trio is charged with one count of deported alien found in the United States. Their preliminary hearings are set for August 4, 2025, before Judge Brenda N. Weksler. All three had previously been deported and reentered the U.S. illegally.

Valencia-Rodriguez, who was arrested on February 8, 2024, faces serious charges including Lewdness by Person Over 18 with Child Less Than 14 and Kidnapping of Minor. He has been deported to Mexico multiple times and has prior felony convictions for drug possession and a firearm offense.

Cazares-Guillen was arrested on July 2, 2025, for Drug Paraphernalia and Imitation Controlled Substance charges. He had been deported in 2018 following convictions for Burglary While in Possession of Firearm and Robbery.

Hidalgo-Gomez was remanded to ICE custody after being arrested on July 3, 2025, for Domestic Violence. He has been deported to Guatemala three times and was convicted of Domestic Violence in Arizona in 2021.

If convicted, Valencia-Rodriguez and Hidalgo-Gomez could face up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and supervised release. Cazares-Guillen faces a potential 20-year sentence. The case was investigated by ICE and is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.
