Wilter Rodrigues, Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine, Massachusetts 2025

Boston – In a gritty turn of justice, Wilter Rodrigues, 39, has been sentenced to serve five years in federal prison for his involvement in the drug-smuggling operations of the violent Cameron Street gang. The sentence was handed down on July 22, 2025, by U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young, who also ordered three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Rodrigues pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base in July 2024. Court documents reveal that the gang member worked with two co-defendants to distribute drugs from an apartment in Somerville. Rodrigues’ criminal history includes previous convictions for firearm possession and drug distribution, reflecting a pattern of violent crime associated with the gang.

The Cameron Street gang is known for its use of violence and intimidation to maintain control over territory in Boston’s Dorchester section. The sentencing of Rodrigues is part of an ongoing effort by federal and local law enforcement to dismantle the gang’s operations and protect the community from its influence.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, along with officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Boston Police Department, announced the sentence. The investigation into Rodrigues was a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies, including the Massachusetts State Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, and several local police departments.

This operation is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative, which aims to disrupt major drug trafficking networks. OCDETF’s multi-agency approach has been instrumental in identifying and dismantling high-level criminal organizations that threaten national security.

Information about the OCDETF Program can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF. The remaining defendants named in the indictment are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
