A former Army soldier, Cedrick Demon Robinson, 42, from Oxford, MS, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing a child and requesting a sexually explicit photograph of another minor. Robinson was convicted on Tuesday following a jury trial in the Southern District of Georgia.
According to courtroom testimony, Robinson fondled the genitals of a nine-year-old child in December 2013. Four years later, he requested a sexually explicit photograph from a fifteen-year-old minor. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, Margaret E. Heap, emphasized the importance of protecting children and seeking justice for sexual predators.
Robinson was sentenced to life imprisonment by U.S. District Court Chief Judge R. Stan Baker on August 12, 2025. The judge also ordered Robinson to pay a $50,000 fine and $10,200 in special assessments. Special Agent in Charge Ryan O’Connor of the Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Stewart praised the collaborative efforts that led to the conviction.
The case was investigated by the Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Stewart and prosecuted for the United States by Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Z. Spitulnik and Darron J. Hubbard from the Southern District of Georgia.
