Ellie Edward Dulaire, Firearm Possession by Felon, Florida 2024

Orlando, Florida – Ellie Edward Dulaire, a nine-time convicted felon from Pine Hills, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The court’s decision came after Dulaire, aged 27 and currently serving time at the Florida Department of Corrections, was caught with a stolen Smith & Wesson M&P Shield during the Florida Gun Show on January 23, 2022.

U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton ordered Dulaire to begin his federal sentence on October 9, 2026, following the completion of his state sentence. In addition to his prison term, Dulaire was also ordered to forfeit the firearm and ammunition used in the offense.

Dulaire’s federal sentence stems from a prior arrest by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies who recognized him from a previous case. They discovered that he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Lake County, leading to the seizure of the stolen firearm, reported as having been taken from Pasco County in 2021.

The investigation was carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorneys Michael P. Felicetta and Courtney Richardson-Jones handled the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence across communities. Launched in May 2021, PSN focuses on fostering trust, supporting community organizations, strategic enforcement, and measuring outcomes to ensure safer neighborhoods for all.

With this conviction, Dulaire’s record of criminal activity grows, highlighting the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat gun-related offenses and protect public safety.
