A brutal assault behind bars has landed a USP Allenwood inmate in hot water with federal prosecutors. Michael Lonesome, 40, allegedly used a razor blade to attack another inmate, sparking a federal investigation.

According to prosecutors, the attack went down at the White Deer prison in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Lonesome was indicted on April 23, 2026, on charges of possessing a weapon in prison and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons and FBI teamed up to crack the case, which is now being prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Robin Zenzinger. If convicted, Lonesome could face up to 10 years in the slammer and a hefty fine.

Indictments are just allegations, and Lonesome is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
