Abilene Man Sentenced to 240 Months in Federal Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking

ABILENE, Texas - Ceddrick Lamont Johnson, a/k/a ‘Bunny Cool,’ of Abilene, Texas, has been sentenced to 240 months in federal prison as a career offender, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas.

Ceddrick Lamont Johnson, 38, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis. Johnson pleaded guilty in April 2015 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to the factual resumes filed in the case, special agents with the FBI and investigators with the Nolan County District Attorney’s Office began an investigation in 2013 into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Sweetwater, Texas, area. Stephanie McQueen, a distributor, was identified as a key figure in the operation.

Johnson was arrested on September 26, 2014, after he distributed 4.3 grams of methamphetamine to McQueen. Text messages from his phone showed a pattern of drug trafficking. McQueen was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison on the same conspiracy charge.

The FBI and the Nolan County District Attorney’s Office investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Juanita Fielden prosecuted. McQueen was identified as a distributor in the Sweetwater, Texas, area in 2013. She was stopped for traffic violations in August 2014 and found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Ceddrick Lamont Johnson was identified as McQueen’s supplier and was sentenced to 240 months in federal prison as a career offender. The investigation into the methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy was ongoing from 2013 to 2014. Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in April 2015.
