PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Farmington, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in federal court to 70 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release on his convictions of distribution of a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors, United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced today. United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan imposed the sentence on Nathan Fike, 41, on August 20, 2026. According to the information presented to the Court, on or about October 4, 2023, Fike distributed a video depicting a prepubescent minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct to an undercover agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force in Jacksonville, Florida. Then, on February 9, 2024, the FBI executed a federal search warrant on the defendant’s residence and discovered he was in possession of approximately 156 images and 63 videos depicting the sexual exploitation of minors, some of whom were prepubescent or minors who had not attained 12 years of age. Assistant United States Attorney V. Joseph Sonson prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Fike. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals, who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
