Jimmy Carter Kim, Kidnapping, Sex Crimes, Nevada 2015

Published September 28, 2018

A North Las Vegas man has been charged with kidnapping and sexually exploiting a 14-year-old Arizona girl, announced U.S. Attorney Dayle Elieson and Special Agent in Charge Aaron C. Rouse of the FBI’s Las Vegas Field Office.

Jimmny Carter Kim, 29, was arrested and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl Hoffman. He is charged by a criminal complaint with one count of kidnapping, one count of sexual exploitation of children, and one count of possession of child pornography.

As alleged in the complaint, between November 1, 2015, and December 3, 2015, Kim offered a ride to and kidnapped a 14-year-old girl who was walking down the street in Bullhead City, Arizona. He drugged her, then drove her to his house in North Las Vegas, where he locked her in a bedroom. Kim repeatedly sexually assaulted her and took photos of the assaults with his iPhone. He also threatened to shoot her with a firearm if she attempted to leave the house.

Based on the victim’s description of the suspect and the house, detectives with the North Las Vegas Police Department were able to identify and interview Kim. During a forensic examination of his iPhone, numerous images and videos of child pornography produced by Kim were found.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 12, 2018. The maximum statutory penalty is life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
