Child Pornography Epidemic Spreads in Texas: San Antonio Man Sentenced to 19 Years in Prison

A San Antonio man has been handed a 19-year prison sentence for his involvement in the distribution of child pornography. Louis Anthony Soucie, a 59-year-old resident of San Antonio, was sentenced to 230 months in prison for receipt of child pornography by U.S. District Judge Jason Pulliam.

According to court documents, on September 21, 2020, a search warrant was executed at Soucie's residence, where digital devices containing 48 videos and 580 images of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct were recovered.

Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristy Callahan expressed her disappointment in Soucie's lack of remorse for his actions. 'At sentencing, Soucie never mentioned remorse for his actions, commenting instead on the new start he would get in prison,' Callahan said.

U.S. District Judge Jason Pulliam responded by reminding everyone that Soucie's victims 'don't get a chance for a new start.' The sentence is a result of Soucie's guilty plea on March 22, 2022, to one count of receipt of child pornography.

HSI investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson prosecuting the case. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.

The sentence also includes a lifetime of supervision for Soucie once he completes his prison term.
