Former Commercial Pilot Sentenced to Federal Prison on Stalking Charge
A former commercial pilot has been sentenced to prison for his role in a disturbing online stalking case. Mark Joseph Uhlenbrock, a 62-year-old man from Chesterfield, Missouri, was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to internet stalking.
Uhlenbrock was placed into federal custody during today's hearing by order of United States District Judge Xavier Rodriguez. He had been on bond pending sentencing. This case serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences of online harassment and the importance of consent in digital relationships.
According to the FBI, Uhlenbrock caused substantial emotional distress to his female victim by posting nude photographs of her on the Internet - on MyEx.com and elsewhere - without her consent. This disturbing behavior continued from the end of their romantic relationship in January 2006 to August 2015, despite three Bexar County (TX) civil district court lawsuits.
On August 26, 2015, FBI agents executed a search warrant at the defendant's residence and seized two laptop computers. An examination of the laptops revealed nude photos of his victim and numerous bookmarks to links where the defendant posted nude photos of his victim.
This case was investigated by the FBI and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Wannarka. The sentence handed down to Uhlenbrock is a result of his guilty plea to one count of stalking. By pleading guilty, Uhlenbrock admitted to his role in the online stalking case.
The sentence serves as a warning to those who engage in online harassment and stalking. The consequences can be severe, and the impact on victims can be devastating. This case highlights the importance of taking online behavior seriously and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
As this case comes to a close, it is essential to remember that online behavior has real-world consequences. The actions of individuals like Uhlenbrock can cause lasting harm to victims and their families. It is crucial that we prioritize online safety and respect for others' boundaries.
