Timothy Wayne Bailey, Child Pornography Production, Texas 2013

Grimy Times

A 38-year-old Corpus Christi man has been handed a maximum 30-year prison term for producing child pornography, a federal judge ruled recently.

Timothy Wayne Bailey pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual exploitation of a child on January 22, 2013. He was subsequently sentenced to the maximum prison term allowed by law by Senior U.S. District Judge John D. Rainey.

Bailey was identified through an undercover investigation, where he was discovered distributing images of child pornography online. A search warrant executed at his home revealed several electronic storage devices containing images of child pornography, including evidence of his prior sexual abuse of a family member. The victim, a family member of Bailey’s, described over four years of continuous sexual assault at the hands of Bailey.

Bailey was arrested on December 5, 2012, and has been in custody since then. He will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined soon.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lance Duke as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Project Safe Childhood has been instrumental in locating, apprehending, and prosecuting individuals who sexually exploit children, as well as rescuing victims.
