Published September 13, 2017

A San Antonio man has been sentenced to federal prison for producing child pornography, Grimy Times has learned.

On May 27, 2016, 29-year-old Vicente Rodriguez Hinojos, III, was arrested for his role in producing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Richard Durbin, Jr. and FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs announced.

Hinojos was sentenced to 585 months in federal prison for his crimes, which took place between 2012 and May 12, 2016. In addition to his prison term, Senior United States District Judge David A. Ezra ordered that Hinojos pay two of his victims $25,000 each in restitution and be placed on supervised release for a period of ten years after completing his prison term.

Hinojos pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography on April 19, 2017. By pleading guilty, Hinojos admitted that he produced visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor during the specified time period. Court records reveal that two of Hinojos’ victims were as young as two years old.

Agents from the FBI’s San Antonio Division executed a search warrant for the defendant’s residence on May 26, 2016, where they seized his computer, USB thumbdrives, Apple iPhone, and an HTC cellular phone. A subsequent forensics evaluation of one of Hinojos’ phones revealed the presence of child pornography.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted this investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Tracy Thompson prosecuting the case on behalf of the Government.
