HOUSTON, TX – A staggering 414 criminal illegal aliens have been arrested by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston on charges or convictions related to child sex offenses during President Trump’s first year back in office. The number represents a near doubling of arrests compared to the final year of the Biden administration, where 211 such offenders were taken into custody. These aren’t immigration violations; these are predators, and the sheer volume is sickening.
The arrested individuals collectively face a horrifying 761 child sex offense charges, alongside 525 other criminal counts ranging from homicide to robbery. ICE ERO Houston acting Field Office Director Gabriel Martinez wasted no time in highlighting the contrast between the agency’s work and what he characterized as “fake news” attempts to discredit its public safety mission. “While the media spins tales, we were quietly removing over 400 dangerous child predators from Southeast Texas communities,” Martinez declared. “Parents can sleep a little easier knowing these monsters are off the streets.”
Among those apprehended, Alex Samuel Lara Diaz, 35, a previously deported citizen of Honduras, was arrested October 29, 2025, and convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a minor. Disturbingly, he’s also wanted in Honduras for homicide. ICE swiftly deported Lara Diaz on December 13, 2025, handing him over to Honduran authorities for prosecution on the murder charge. Then there’s Gabriel Julio Lopez-Velazquez, 25, from Mexico, a repeat offender who has illegally entered the U.S. four times and been convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a minor, aggravated assault, illegal entry, and twice for felony illegal reentry. He was deported April 10, 2025.
The list of depravity continues. Juan Leonardo Garcia Ibarra, 48, of Mexico, repeatedly defied deportation orders, illegally reentering the U.S. a shocking 12 times. He’s been convicted of sexual indecency with a child, aggravated assault, cruelty toward a child, DWI, felony illegal reentry, and three counts of illegal entry. Deported April 7, 2025. Javier Perez-Garcia, 49, also from Mexico, illegally entered the U.S. twice and was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual indecency with a child, hit-and-run, damaging property, and twice for DWI and assault. Deported September 24, 2025. Milton Alexander Magana Fuentes, 32, of El Salvador, entered the U.S. illegally four times and was convicted of sexual indecency with a minor and failing to register as a sex offender, along with two counts of illegal reentry. Deported July 25, 2025.
Not all cases resulted in immediate deportation. Luis Mario Monsalve Chaux, 52, a Colombian national, remains in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings. He’s been convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material, possessing burglary tools, four counts of burglary, and twice for larceny. Another repeat offender, Armando Vasquez-Gonzalez, 43, a twice-deported citizen of Mexico, was arrested September 18, 2025, after convictions for sexual indecency with a child and drug trafficking. The details of each case paint a grim picture of relentless criminal activity and repeated failures of the system to adequately protect vulnerable children.
These arrests, while significant, are likely just the tip of the iceberg. The sheer number of repeat offenders highlights the difficulty in keeping these predators from re-entering the country and preying on innocent victims. The question remains: how many more are still out there, and what resources will be dedicated to ensuring they are brought to justice and removed from our communities? The Grimy Times will continue to investigate and report on this critical issue.
