Henderson Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography

VALDOSTA, GA – Kenneth E. Henderson, 49, of Tifton, Georgia, admitted to a sickening crime today, pleading guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography. The plea was entered before Senior United States District Judge Hugh Lawson in Valdosta, according to a statement from United States Attorney Michael J. Moore for the Middle District of Georgia. Henderson’s depravity wasn’t confined to U.S. soil; the acts occurred while he was deployed with the United States Armed Forces in Kuwait.

The investigation, a joint effort by the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS), uncovered a disturbing cache of illegal material on Henderson’s computer. Law enforcement officials found videos and images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, some involving prepubescent children and those under the age of twelve. This wasn’t accidental exposure; Henderson actively sought out and viewed this horrific content.

Prosecutors revealed Henderson spent a seven-month period relentlessly searching for and consuming child pornography while serving his country overseas. The details are grim, painting a picture of a man betraying his oath and exploiting vulnerable children. The specifics of how the material was obtained and distributed remain under wraps as the case moves toward sentencing, but authorities assure the public they are pursuing all leads.

Assistant United States Attorney Robert D. McCullers is leading the prosecution, determined to deliver justice in this particularly heinous case. Henderson now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years behind bars, with the potential for up to twenty years of imprisonment. Beyond incarceration, he could be subjected to a term of supervised release lasting anywhere from five years to life, and a hefty fine of up to $250,000.00.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 28, 2013, in Valdosta. While a guilty plea is a step towards accountability, it offers little solace to the victims whose suffering fueled Henderson’s actions. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on the final sentencing, ensuring this predator faces the consequences of his crimes.
