Belgrade, MT – Juan Diego Rojas-Meneses, 20, walked out of federal court having served 219 days, but didn’t get a free pass. Judge Dana Christensen sentenced Rojas-Meneses yesterday, but immediately remanded him to the U.S. Border Patrol. The feds weren’t interested in more jail time; they want him gone.

Rojas-Meneses pleaded guilty to re-entering the country illegally after being kicked out twice last year – once on September 1st and again on September 23rd, both through El Paso, Texas. Cops raided a Belgrade residence back on August 12th, finding Rojas-Meneses and confirming he had no legal right to be here. He reportedly admitted to being a Mexican citizen without papers.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zeno Baucus handled the case, backed by a joint investigation from Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Belgrade PD, and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigations. The whole thing is tied into “Operation Take Back America,” a DOJ push to clamp down on illegal immigration and, as they put it, ‘eliminate cartels.’
