Philly Crew Gets Life for Marine’s Murder

⏱ 3 min read

Five Philly stick-up artists are staring down decades in federal prison after a jury slammed the door on their carjacking operation. The crew terrorized the city, racking up at least 29 vehicle thefts – and things turned deadly in February 2022 when they murdered a former Marine during a carjacking. Prosecutors laid out the case, revealing the stolen cars weren’t just joyridden; they were shipped to Africa and sold for profit.

Mikal McCracken, 24, known as “Kal,” took the worst of it. The jury convicted him of carjacking resulting in the Marine’s death, plus a conspiracy to silence a potential witness – meaning they tried to whack someone who could rat them out. He was also found guilty on 20 other armed carjackings, with five of those incidents involving victims being shot at, or actually hit.

Amin Muse, 24, a.k.a. “Miyn” and “Miyns,” shared the same fate as McCracken on the murder and witness intimidation charges, adding another eight carjackings to his rap sheet – one where someone caught a bullet. Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, (“Fatleem”) was convicted in the Marine’s death and five more armed robberies. Dean Fosque, 28, (“30”) faces consequences for nine carjackings, three of which involved gun violence and one resulting in a victim being struck.

Kavon Coleman, 23, (“Ski”) was convicted for four carjackings. Prosecutors painted a picture of a meticulously planned operation, a streamlined process of taking cars, prepping them, and getting them on cargo ships. Sentencing dates are pending, but with these convictions, these guys won’t be seeing daylight for a long, long time.
