BELGRADE, MT – Juan Diego Rojas-Meneses, 20, won’t be seeing the Treasure State again anytime soon. The Mexican national was sentenced today to the 219 days he’d already spent locked up and immediately handed over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
Rojas-Meneses pleaded guilty to illegally re-entering the country after being previously kicked out – not once, but twice – through El Paso, Texas, in September of 2024. Belgrade PD and state investigators raided a residence August 12th, 2025, where they found Rojas-Meneses admitting he was in the U.S. illegally.
The feds say he didn’t bother asking for permission to come back, and a quick check confirmed his deportation history. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zeno Baucus handled the prosecution, with the Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigations doing the legwork.
The case falls under the umbrella of ‘Operation Take Back America,’ a nationwide DOJ push framed as fighting illegal immigration and “cartels.”
