Stolen Glock Lands DC Felon 2 Years

⏱ 3 min read

Charles General, 29, is trading the streets of D.C. for a federal cell after getting two years for packing a stolen .45 caliber Glock 30S. Metro PD flagged him and a crew smokin’ weed in a Cedar Street SE parking lot back in October 2023. The smell led to a search, and boom – a loaded handgun tucked into his coat. Turns out, the piece was lifted from a Virginia gun shop.

This wasn’t a first offense. General already had a rap sheet, a prior conviction in D.C. Superior Court for carrying a pistol without a license. That meant this latest firearm fumble wasn’t just a weapons charge, it was a federal felony, landing him in front of Judge Amit P. Mehta. Repeat offenders face stiffer penalties, and in this case, it stuck.

On November 5, 2025, General admitted he was a convicted felon illegally packing heat and ammo. Mehta didn’t mess around, sentencing him to 24 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release. Standard procedure, but it keeps another illegal gun off the streets.

The bust was a combined effort from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Assistant U.S. Attorney Emory V. Cole handled the case, framing it as part of the “Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful” program—a holdover from the Trump administration pushing for harsher gun penalties and more federal muscle in the District.
