Eau Claire Meth Dealer Gets 10 Years

⏱ 2 min read

Nicholas Fisher, 41, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin is headed to federal prison for a decade. Cops caught him with over 2.9 pounds of meth – 1,322 grams, to be exact – during a traffic stop on May 3, 2025. The feds say Fisher intended to sell the stuff. He pleaded guilty last December.

Eau Claire Police pulled Fisher over while serving a probation warrant. A search of his vehicle turned up the massive amount of methamphetamine, along with the tools of the trade – packaging materials and other drug-dealing equipment. The bust was a joint effort between the Eau Claire PD and the DEA.

At yesterday’s sentencing, Judge James D. Peterson acknowledged Fisher’s long rap sheet but noted the crimes appeared driven by addiction rather than violence. That didn’t buy him much leniency – 10 years in the can, followed by five years on supervised release.

This case is part of the Justice Department’s “Operation Take Back America,” a broad-stroke initiative aimed at cracking down on drug cartels and violent crime, using resources from both the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods. Assistant U.S. Attorney Megan Stelljes handled the prosecution.
