Gary City Jobs Scam: Justice Dept. Charges Discrimination Against White Applicants!

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is slapping Gary, Indiana with a lawsuit for racial bias in their EMT hiring practices.

According to the DOJ, six white applicants were unfairly denied jobs, while African-American candidates were offered positions despite lower rankings. The city’s alleged violation: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

“Federal law mandates equal employment access, regardless of race,” Grace Chung Becker, Acting Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, emphasized. “We’re committed to enforcing these laws.”

Title VII not only prohibits discrimination but also protects employees who oppose illegal hiring practices. The DOJ stands firm in its pursuit of justice.
