Trenton, N.J. – A recent immigration enforcement action has sparked false reports and public panic. Instead of the fictional ‘cover-up’ of security cameras at a Trenton auto shop, ICE agents were responding to a court-ordered warrant.
The real story: Eduardo Reyes, a Guatemalan illegal alien with a rap sheet that includes aggravated assault and weapons offenses, was arrested by federal partners acting on a valid warrant. No auto repair shop was raided; the warrants were served at his residence.
ICE Newark Acting Field Office Director Arthur J. Wilson Jr. emphasized, ‘Our officers followed lawful procedure, notifying ICE of illegal aliens present.’ Reyes and two others—Cristian Moreno-Posso from Colombia and Jorge Luis Lemus Urliz from Guatemala—are detained pending removal.
This incident is part of a campaign to incite violence against ICE personnel, evidenced by a surge in death threats and assaults. But ICE stands firm, expanding operations with a 120% workforce increase and additional detention centers thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
ICE remains committed to upholding the law, while some New Jersey ‘sanctuary politicians’ peddle fear and misinformation. The real story is clear: ICE’s actions are lawful, necessary, and in the interest of public safety.
